Geology and glaciology centre

Are you familiar with the fascinating history of the alpine ocean? When was the last period of glaciation? To understand more about the actual glaciology and geomorphology of the region, excursions are available in Ferpècle and Arolla.

These excursions are described on the website Geology in the Val d'Hérens and also on an application for Smartphone to help you find your way on the spot. 

New permanent exhibition

Site: Geology and glaciology centre in les Haudères

Open hours: every Thursday during the Summer, from 3pm to 6pm, then on request

Rates: CHF 3.-, free for children  

Exhibition: about geology in the region, glaciers and shaping of the landscape; didactic panels, video projections and a brochure given at the entrance or available here will help you understand it all better.
